A Message from the Cemetery Board:

This board is charged with oversight of the cemetery in two main areas. One is the legal and orderly burial and associated record keeping. The other is the maintenance and care of the grounds in a manner respectful to the patrons and attractive and inviting to the general public.

We have no fund excess, therefore much of the beautification work is done on a volunteer basis. Much of that volunteer work is done by the Cemetery Board, however many of the public have also contributed. We would like your cooperation with this - we have two major problems. They are excessive and improperly placed flowers and decorations and the effects of deterioration of artificial decorations. These both provide grounds maintenance problems and increased expense. For that reason we are enhancing and enforcing the decoration rules.

It is our hope and goal to give the cemetery patrons the greatest latitude while maintaining general decor and reasonable sustainable budget expenditures. We realize no one likes rules imposed and we don’t take any pleasure in them either, however they are the result of real problems and are intended for the greater good of the cemetery. You will help maintain this grand cemetery by following these rules and guidelines. Many public and private cemeteries in our area have much more stringent rules and if we can’t control the costs of maintenance we may need to impose similar restrictions.
