Special Message about Post Memorial Day Decorations
Understanding and following these rules will prevent disappointment and heartache.

The Cemetery Board wishes to allow families and friends the broadest range of memorials that are practically possible. This must be balanced with general decorum and taste along with our obligation to maintain a clean, neat cemetery properly mowed and trimmed. We do this by allowing nearly anything for memorials from May through Memorial Day. We MAY, as we usually do, extend this period, for your benefit, to Fathers Day. This is done at a real cost in mowing and trimming as it takes much more time and concentration to work around these items. This year we are extending this period even further, until June 21, to include the Cemetery Walk sponsored by the Historical Society. Our cleanup will be Sunday June 22th at 1:30 PM, at which time and thereafter till the next year’s Memorial Day period, all the following items (meaning everything) will be removed To disposal - This means Permanently Gone!

• Anything at ground level sitting or inserted into the ground.
• Anything propped or standing at ground level that does not have at least 5” of cement base between the outer edge of the item and the grass
• anything not secured that could easily fall or tip into the path of mowers or trimmers.
• Any sort of hanger or plant stand inserted into the ground without the proper installation by cemetery personnel (exceptions are those who have paid for the cementing procedure which we haven’t yet completed)
• Any ground cement work done without specific approval of the Cemetery Board
• More than 1 plant stand or similar inserted item per burial spot or 2 per headstone.
• Any NEW ground plantings - these are not allowed (exceptions are the few which have been allowed for many years and are allowed by our discretion, but we retain the right we have to discontinue at anytime)
• Any grandfathered ground plantings not kept weeded and grass free
• Anything in approved stands which hang down and could interfere with mowers or trimmers.
• Any artificial items that demonstrate deterioration due to poor construction and/or the elements ( as evidenced by parts or pieces scattered on the grounds)
• And in general ANYTHING elee that impedes or complicates mowing or trimming or cemetery maintenance!
